192. Is it okay for me to wear lipstick?

Hey Llewellyn, whatcha doing?

Ah, I found some lipstick, and was just trying it on.

Do you like it?

Well, it looks okay.

Ooh can I wear mascara too then?

Llewellyn was the first American Girl doll I bought that I kept. When I started my American Girl collecting I was limiting myself to Ebay. Llewellyn was a well loved Julie. She arrived July 4th 2014. She's a little bit faded, her lips particularly looked pale apricot to me

Forgot to take a before, but here's one I prepared earlier, November 2014.

so I thought I'd try a little colour. What do you think?

191. Who wore it best?

Ceciles Special Dress

Sadie

Mercedes

Zara

Lauralee

Kitten

I think it suits an older girl personally, so I was leaning Sadie or Lauralee. In the end I prefered Sadie overall.

Who was your favourite?

190. Belville

In my search for the DIY house dwellers I visited one very pink building - the Hello Kitty house. It was quite a mess, the current residents had gotten a little lazy.

I did manage to find this little lady. A Lego Belville figure from the 1990s.

I think this was her original set as well, a chair a dressing table and a little white cat.

What a shame. She measures 8cm tall or 8 lego blocks high ( those pictured are two blocks high a piece).

Yep, nup just wanted to double check.

Bel, hmm actually I'm not even sure that is her name, I'll have to check. The little girl is articulated, I'm going to call her a ball jointed doll. Her neck can go left right up down; shoulders can rotate and sit 90 degrees to her body;

elbows can bend and rotate; wrists have some bend and can rotate and she has Lego minifigure grippy hands that actually have marks to show four fingers;

Actually her hands are more realistic

whilst it looks like her torsoe has a join at the waist I couldn't get it to move; her hips can swing her legs 90 degrees to her body forwards and maybe 45 to the side she can't do the splits in either

direction, unless you accidentally pull her legs off ;0

the knees can bend and there is some rotation in the ankles. Her shoes are designed to fit on Lego pegs. She has tiny pin holes on the top of her shoes and another on the top of her head so she can add bows or a head band.

Or even some other Lego headpieces.

Her hair does not come off. She has a very cute face and makes me think of the little china girl from the not Alice in wonder land, Wonderland movie.

Definitely taller than your regular Lego person. I do believe there were taller dolls in Belville representing adults.

I googled, and Brikipedia knew what I was talking about.
My little girl closely resembles Pamela or The Belville Girl but is otherwise unnamed from set number 5810 Vanity Fun

Now something recently caught my eye, other than the need for house occupants, that made me go looking for this doll.
American Girl has released Mega Bloks sets that include what appear to be articulated figures. I wonder if they are similar?

189. DIY house, who can live there?

The DIY dollhouse I'm making does not come with any occupants. I've made it this far so far where the walls are starting to come together.

Provided of course that it passes the building inspection and does not need to be bulldozed I was starting to wonder who might be able to live there.

The clearance floor to ceiling on the ground floor is 8 centimetres (cm), but that does mean you're scraping your head. There is also a fancy light fitting hanging from this ceiling which would reduce the maximum height to 6cm, and the doorway is also 6cm and the bed. Darn that counts me out, and my American Girl dolls. Do we have any candidates suitable?

By royal decree it might just be a Lego house.

I wonder how tall the Lego friends line of figures are. (House might not be royal enough for her majesty).  My search shall continue.

This is the kitchen counter with grill and oven, a little too tall for her Majesty. Not that she'd use it herself of course.

188. I got called into the Principals office.

As a child I didn't think I was prone to being naughty at school, but I do have memories of getting into trouble and the agonising shame of being in trouble. Primary school it was for going past the fence to get the sports bus before the teacher said we could (that might have been a safety issue, I think the bus was pulling into the bus stop); high school we were at a music concert of some kind and we were caught talking to some one in the row behind us, probably after being specifically told not to (and it was probably rude to the perfomers).  Primary school punishment I think was being taken into the principals office and being told off. High school a talking to by the music department head teacher and writing an essay on something I no longer recall.
I can think of some other unfortunate times, hmm, maybe I was just a naughty naughty girl.
So when I got called into the Principals office in my doll room school the guilts just started creeping in. Ooh what had I done this time?

Mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa (peanuts adult it seems)
Oh, not a very big classroom.
Mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa.
Oh and only one spare desk.

Mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa.
Oh, only one spare desk altogether.
Mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa 6
Actually it might be 7
Mwa mwa mwa mwa mamma Mia.
He he he (or 9, there's 2 more pending)
MWA MWA MWA MWA.
Oh, ah sorry. Poor Miss Wright. Maybe she needs a less stressful job.

poor Miss Wright

After dropping the girls off at school I had realised I'd forgotten some of their lunches, but on my return, expecting I'd have to interrupt class, I found all the girls outside or in the foyer. The teachers would not let them in.

Ah, girls?

What's going on?

Did I forget a pupil free day again?

No, Catherine. Miss Wright got very upset, when she realised that the one remaining seat, which we thought was for Hanalei, was not enough because there were actually 6 new students. Mercedes informed me.
Ooh, um then, another's probably gonna be a bit awkward isn't it?
I went inside.

Hi Miss Dawson, I guess we have a problem?

Well, it will be a little bit crowded in here.

We have eleven desks and the only spare desk we had was being used for the girls drink bottles.

Boowahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Ooh, Miss Wright, are you alright?
He, ah, Catherine, I think the principal wants to have a chat to you, Miss Dawson almost pleaded. I'll try and deal with things as they are.
Okay, I've just got to get someone out of the car.
Booohooohooooohhoooo

Hi girls, we're just trying to sort some things out, we might have class outside of the schoolroom today.

Home School, Home School.
Ah, that might be an option Trinity.
YAY.
At least until we get the classroom sorted, though we did spend almost a year without desks, so....

Um, should I come over now? A Shy little voice.
Ooh, who are you?
Kitten Poteau. I'm new here.

Did you say Kitten, like Pudding?
I've not been called a dessert before.
Hehe, no no, Pudding is my kitten, is Kitten your name?
Yes, I get called Kit, or Kitty a lot though.
Hello Kitty!

Welcome to our School Kitten, I'm Mercedes.
Hi Mercedes.
A lot of us have unusual names.

Come on lovely, there's a nice café you can have a cup of tea. It will be alright.

Sniff, sniff, I don't know why I let it get to me....

Ahhhhh

I think the first thing we need to do is update our class ID cards, that means taking everyone's photo.

Ooh, can I do that? I do love photography. I even have my own camera.

Oooh

Just flick the stand and...

Ah! Don't shoot.
Hehehe.

Trinity

Now Trinity, I'm thinking some new things will be going on around here, and well I do like the students to have an input. What would you like to see happen?

I'd like Pudding to be able to come to class. He's very clever. And CRAFT, I love CRAFT.

Pudding, wants to learn more about Fish.

and Mini Addy wants to learn about big things, like things that have happened that made big changes in the world.

Do I guess you'd like to know more about Pirates, Miriam?
Yes Capn, and Ships. Thanks for minding my hat.

Okay.

Hi I'm Whynta.
Hi Whynta, I'm Miss Dawson.
I'm not sure I should get a picture, I'm not sure how long I'll be here. We're still waiting to hear from my family back in the US when I can go home.
Well while we wait you can still join in, and its important that we have identification for you.
Okay.
Have you enjoyed your visit anyway?
Mhmm, yes, everyone is so nice. Mariana and everyone have treated me just like I was part of the family.

Hey naughty, hehehehehehe.

Id like to know where I belong.

Mariana, now you are here as our Work Experience student.
Yes, its very exciting. I think Id like to be a teacher some day.

Pippa

Well Id like to make teddy bears, and I probably should learn to cross stitch or embroider some day, can we do bike riding for PE?

Emily, and Coconut

Wooh woooh woooooh

Benny, sit down, Benny.

Come here you naughty thing.

Is that your puppy Whynta?
Well, no, he just sort of turned up,  like me, and..

Ooh, he still has his tag out.

What, what does that mean?
He might be a stray, we should take him to the vet, they can check if he has a chip, and he might need vaccinating and things, and we should put up a poster to see if any one owns him.
Oh, but that might mean he will go away.
It might also mean that we can keep him.
Should we ask Catherine?
Yes, and if we can keep him, we can go to puppy preschool. Coconut was top of his class last year.
Oooh.

Llewellyn.

Hanalei

Dani

What would you like Dani.
I want to dance, and dance, and dance.
Hmm, what kind of dance.
Ballet, tap, jazz ballet.
Oh, we might need to see if we can get you in contact with the school in at Newcastle.
Oh, but would that mean going there instead?
Maybe, some of the time.

Antoinette.

That looks like everyone Miss Dawson.
Wow thank you so much Kitten, but what about you?
Oh, I'll show  Mercedes what to do.

Benny come back!!

Wooh wooh wooh
