130. Maddie's Space.

Maddie's room, that big gaping space on the left

With the questionable flooring was having a hmmm what can we do with this day

A few furniture pieces from the Beach house and the Thomas Middleton twins were visiting.

Maddie is the oldest, well if we went off time she's lived here she is, and it only seems fair really that she should have a flat of her own. No she's not moving away we're just renovating her existing location. A granny flat like arrangement, just don't tell her I called her a granny.
Last year when Maddie had her operation she was able to stay at the beach house and really liked the idea.
So, we're trying this out.....

The upper floor will be her bedroom, the lower the kitchen, dining and lounge room.
Lori's loft by Our Generation was in the back of my mind.

Still need a proper lounge, and maybe a stair case and carpet and wallpaper and well you get the idea it's not yet complete... But it's a start and I kind of like it. Now where to put all those Lego men?

129. Beauty and the Beast.

I'm only a week behind 14 million other people but yay the trailer for the next live action Disney film is out

128. Self control: I saw, I got excited, I walked away.

Toysrus a couple of weeks ago had a new doll right near the front door.
I got excited and took pictures.

Whilst the heading gives the impression I was strong, I was actually just running low on time. But am kind of glad I was and didn't make any rushed decisions.

Yet.

127. A very fuzzy caterpillar.

126. Badger basket bed.

As part of Tzeitel's birthday month I'd hoped to give her a new room and a new bed.

The room may be a while as for now her room is attached to the school, no one wants to live at school. So she is sharing with Trinity Pippa and Emily.
The bed did arrive though.
Now for some unfortunately bad photography (worse than what's already here).

White rose doll canopy bed, by Badger Basket.

Assembly required

The rose pattern stencilled to the head and foot boards.

Canopy.
It comes with a mattress and pillows.
And it just fits in the space between floor and ceiling.

Most of the structure is wood and easy to put together. The curve to the canopy is metal

And the canopy itself just sits on top and the curtains tie to the bed posts. It is pretty. I would have like the curtain to be able to be secured better, it does slip around a bit. Also if the curtains had been longer, like to the ground. A blanket would have nice too but Tzeitel has added her own touch there and is pleased anyway.

Tzeitel's room is ground floor where I'd allowed an extra inch or so height for easier access - I'm tallish and it helps.

So for now with the renovations still in progress Tzeitel's things are here in the craft space.

125. My feet aren't long enough.

I decided awhile ago, let's see

February 11 to be exact, to buy a Barbie. Somehow I managed to save opening it until today. I definitely am not a keepem in the boxem type person, I just hadn't is all. So well, yes I was curious

About the new "ultimate pose able" version of a doll I'd had in my life since the 80s in some form or another.

The last time I remember this sort of thing happening that I got hooked on anyway was in the 90s when they started introducing flat-footed gymnasts, super heroes, there was a series with corduroy overalls, Wheelchair bound Becky. I guess it did limit the footwear. There were a lot of sneakers, but flat shoes and Mary Janes and one strap things could be bought in a packet.

A gypsy named Esmerelda.
Esmerelda has good range at the neck shoulders elbows waist hips and knees.

The head of flying super hero Teresa. She has since retired from all that flying and supering and been transplanted to a belly button body with high arched feet. Ah yes, those dolls still had the large bust and teeny waist.

At one point Mattel improved the look of the flat foot on the Cali girl series, but I think the pose ability had reverted back. Not sure what feet they have on the swimsuit editions these days. I think they had the shapely flat feet at one point. Cali girls even had some nicer shoes.

Esmerelda is my last Barbie style doll of this type.

Anyway so who'd I get?

Rip tear shred. Ooh rubber bands needed some more of those.

Hello. I'm Made to Move.
I can do that
There is no question the new doll can move in more ways than any previous doll so I'm not going to do a comparison.

Oh I just got down here
Do you old doll need a hand getting up again?

No I'm just resting, ooh look at that. Your feet are so small how do you keep balance?

What, oh dear, is she questioning my perfectness?

There I can stand unsupported

Whoops. Catherine stop breathing (I just blew at her, no big bad wolf puff either)

(The blow test new girl 0 Esmerelda 5)

I'm a little less than impressed with her feet and ankles. Yes I know Barbies are disproportionate but it just seems if they were being sold shoeless were they intended to be shod at all and if not why not make the feet a little more realistic? Esmerelda's aren't right either but they are more ish in the right direction.

What?
Her feet aren't big enough. Or her arms are too long. Everyone knows that your foot should be the length from elbow to wrist. Google it it's true, Pretty Woman was educational after all.

My what big feet you have.
The BFC ink 100+ poses dolls are pretty spot on.

My Scene shoe feet would be the closest to correct. The new doll feet don't have any give like the older Barbie rubber ones so I was not keen to push the foot all the way in -that and for fear of snapping the ankle.

So there you go.
I had wanted to keep this new face mold doll, and she'll keep her body, for now. I had been thinking to transplant heads if I could get a skintone match, the only one would be the white skinned blonde I have for the white skinned Made to Move (her eyes just don't look right -like they're painted on or decals, which they are but they look like it, so the brown haired doll was the test case and only one that'd come home with me) but am not so certain now that that's the body I want to use. The white skinned blonde is one of those stuck in a pose F word dolls (rhymes with fat on blister) so she needs something.

MTM FA MTM FA
Mmm

Then there's the look of the joints, so that's a whole other rant, and argument (you've been transplanting BFCs, yeah I know).

So for now, dollies back on the shelf, time to go clean up after things that have their joints under something called skin and are only disproportionate when humans start mucking with their gene pool.

124. No more Curly hair.

Ah! I'd almost promised myself not to get any more curly haired dolls.

Mercedes' spiral curls

Ah!
Journey girls tight ish Afro (Taryn lives with Anne Shirley at mumsies place) on Chavonne

Ah!
An evil fair skinned blonde version of this Barbie face mold

My Scene Madison

Ah!
Matilda
From Australia Girl

Ah!
Trinity!
What?

Complaint - you can't brush these dolls hair, and I can't help but like curls. (Curl envy, she of the straight thin haired type person).

We have a friend coming soon that just couldn't help but be cute and curly haired, and last one -promise-maybe.....
