212. I lied there's one more

A little while ago I posted about Belville by Lego (post number 190) a little articulated figure aimed I guess at the younger female consumer back in the 1990's.
Well I managed to acquire Mattel owned Mega Bloks American Girl figurines

Uptown style collection

And Downtown Style Collection

And so we ask ourselves: Could they be suitable friends for Belville?

Let's take a look...

Back of the pack: what you get 3 dolls plus extra hair handbags and fashion pieces

How they come apart, Victor F would love this

Other sets available

Canada

Opening is very easy, just pull the plastic from the cardboard- I found this easiest at the bottom.

No sticky tape, no glue, none of those annoying H things. Each piece is pushed into the plastic casing

And with a gentle nudge pops out.

Look what I can do

Look Ma no shoe

Each head has a ridged indent around the back and a hole in the top

Each hair piece had a peg? Underneath to fit the hair to the head

The glasses are a full round band

That fits in the ledge

And is hidden when covered by the hair.

Making the glasses hard to lose, unless they flew off somewhere when you popped them out of the original packaging

Hats fit on top off the slimmer hair dos

Handbags clip in the clippy hands

Skirts and belts are rubbery and fit to the torsoe waist or over the leg peg that joins the two body halves. The rubbery skirt has some give, enabling the doll to diy if required.

The only disappointment I had was the lack of skin toned feet. Each doll always has to be shod.

Size comparison...

Belville is too tall.
They are just about the right size though to be mini dolls to the AG mini dolls. Mini Cecile is very happy.
