198. American Girl Mix and Match Collection

Back in, um, hmm, lets say......,

Back in June this year I bought some American Girl outfits, and forgot to post about it, so here are some things I bought

The Purchase with Purchase outfit

Indigo Bubble dress, the belt is elasticised at the back, and can be used as a headband. The bubble skirt effect is a bit lost due to flat pack shipping

197. Our Generation: It's So Snuggly

I spotted this in Kmart #1 a few weeks ago,

tights shoes skirt top scarf and jacket

I find OG tights are just a teensy bit short on American Girls.

The jacket is like a fluffy long sleeved t shirt, we had a big bit of trouble getting Mari's right arm in the sleeve, just a little bit of accidental plucking occured

The shoes were the biggest let down. The sole is fabric, and not wide enough to fit AG feet, also the toes narrow toward the front and just look awkward as AG feet are wider

You can also notice Mari's heel wider at the back than what the shoe allows.  I bought a pair of OG sneakers recently, I wonder why they didn't follow the sole pattern for them?

the waist is glittery gold elastic, sheer-ish over skirt with silver o's all over it, a pink under skirt, that is hemmed, but is fraying a little. The tshirt is very pale pink with Velcro up the back.

I wonder if Maddie would fit the jacket and the shoes?

I'm not putting that on its too hot,

it looks like it'll fit fine though

I was browsing the library section of the supermarket this morning (aka: the TV magazine) and AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH had to rush home and google.

195. Kitten's Caboodle

I thought I'd explain why I called Kit Kitten. I am aware Kit is the official AG doll's nickname, a  take on the dolls surname, Kittredge. Margaret Mildred Kittredge. Most of the dolls that come into my care are renamed from their box names. Josefina so far is the only exception, but I have mucked with her surname a bit (I add or name them after the place I got them from, or at least some place near by - otherwise there would be a lot more Middletons). My Kit came from Poteau in Oklahoma, so her surname is Poteau, and whilst contemplating a rename for some reason the Jane Fonda movie about Cat Ballou came into my head, and sorry no better explanation than that Kitten just seemed right. I checked the diary I keep about my dolls and there is no further depth to my insanity.

I really like Kit's classic meet outfit and that is why she was bought secondhand.

I then found myself coveting her collection and so it came to pass...

I made a bed, Kits metal bed to me isn't wide enough, and I don't quite get the fold out double bed bit, so

Spotty approved.

Ive used a yellow pillow case for the mattress and pillow, and crocheted the blanket. The bed is made from MDF and pine, and painted green, with some stickers on the bed head - not quite floral.
