207. Build a Bear buddies

When Zara first arrived she was wearing the Karaoke outfit. 

Zoe arrived in Kit's overalls. 

On a recent visit to Build a Bear we found  this set, overalls and a tee.  It is a little large in fit and short in the legs, and well it has a hole in the seat for a tail to stick through. It is a cute relaxed fit for Summer and Zara looks quite cute herself.

Shoes are plaid sneakers by Our Generation.

Hehehe, I wonder what will happen if it falls on Ronnie. 

Zoe and Zara are both American Girl Just Like You #4. Both appear to be wearing genuine American Girl underwear. Based on the American Girl wiki Zoe with her white undies with black polka dots was released between 1998-2000, Zara's white undies would give her a release period between 2000-2002. Zara is a little larger in torsoe than most of my other dolls and thus the reason for venturing into Build a bear. Both were bought off eBay and still in good condition in my opinion, only needed a good wipe over. Zara's left eye is the only issue as the pupil has a cloudy appearance, but that is why she needs to wear glasses. Zoe also wears glasses.

They are quickly becoming best of friends.

I bought her the Merry Magenta outfit and the Elegant Earrings Set

the pattern on the dress is pieces of faux leather sewn onto the mesh overlay. there is a layer of tulle under this and then a heavy tshirt material forms the dress.

Elegant earrings: magenta and gold tear drop dangles, and studs, and silver and pale pink studs with silver stars on a dangle hoop

This was in the October 2016 catalogue, and what had probably influenced my decision to buy #66 with the Merry Magenta Outfit

Look ma no strings

Ew, the faux leather pieces are not sewn on right to the edge, so any seams unfortunately show the underside of the faux leather - which is white

#66 is gorgeous is this colour (but I can't help seeing the white, more snippy snippy maybe)

So does #66 look like Josefina?

My Josefina is marked Pleasant Company and arrived in her original meet outfit including the leather moccasins with leather string - the latter unfortunately disintegrated in my hand when I tried to take the moccasins off.

I feel that #66 has a softer expression, and shorter eyebrows, darker eyes, and darker lips.

195. Kitten's Caboodle

I thought I'd explain why I called Kit Kitten. I am aware Kit is the official AG doll's nickname, a  take on the dolls surname, Kittredge. Margaret Mildred Kittredge. Most of the dolls that come into my care are renamed from their box names. Josefina so far is the only exception, but I have mucked with her surname a bit (I add or name them after the place I got them from, or at least some place near by - otherwise there would be a lot more Middletons). My Kit came from Poteau in Oklahoma, so her surname is Poteau, and whilst contemplating a rename for some reason the Jane Fonda movie about Cat Ballou came into my head, and sorry no better explanation than that Kitten just seemed right. I checked the diary I keep about my dolls and there is no further depth to my insanity.

I really like Kit's classic meet outfit and that is why she was bought secondhand.

I then found myself coveting her collection and so it came to pass...

I made a bed, Kits metal bed to me isn't wide enough, and I don't quite get the fold out double bed bit, so

Spotty approved.

Ive used a yellow pillow case for the mattress and pillow, and crocheted the blanket. The bed is made from MDF and pine, and painted green, with some stickers on the bed head - not quite floral.
