185. Maddie's flat, a sofa

Looks like I forgot to show you Maddie's birthday present, just a whole month late.

While Maddie and I were at the Lego show Andy was putting together

Really easy to put together once you work out the way which the molding on the back of the sofa goes.

Unfortunately Maddie's flat is a bit too small for the whole set to be together

Though in winter you could turn the stove on and be quite roasty.

The sofa is in 4 pieces, a corner and two one way backed pieces, a backless piece. These can be arranged anyway you like and even long enough for a guest to stay over on

As long as they're thin and don't want a mattress. The purple sofa cushions are quite thick

Hopefully the purple won't stain the dolls vinyl.

Enough labels?

3 pale blue scatter cushions.

I will be cutting the labels off, they're too big to conceal.

The set also has a low long coffee table.

It's one and a half sofa pieces long and as wide as one sofa piece.

So for Maddie's flat at the moment we have the three backed pieces, and a little jewellery box as coffee table stand in

And the other parts are upstairs where there probably isn't enough room there either but will do for now.

Maddie's flats almost done. Still working on how to put a picture in the window frames.

For now they can imagine they like the no puff sleeves version.

184. I asked and looks like I can :-)

I'm on American Girls emailing list, and they recently sent an email about being on mailing list for printed catalogues. Being in Australia this isn't possible or so I thought, and emailed Customer Service to see if I could be sent the catalogues if I paid for the postage. I know they can be viewed electronically, but personally I love a printed catalogue.

Apparently I only had to ask and give my address details. And lo and behold

183. An empty corner

If built in wardrobes don't count I have an empty corner in my doll room.

I've tried using the wardrobe as doll housing in the past. It's not very deep, an 18" doll's bed will fit and not much else. Great space for empty AG boxes.

90x90 hmmm.

The construction so far.

It'll hopefully be sturdy and light enough to pull away from the door if I need to put more boxes in the wardrobe.

4 floors high, my trusty kitchen stool on standby for the top floor. I'm thinking one little girl might need an attic/treehouse room.

Have I introduced her yet, actually I think I've been a bit slack on the intros to my doll family. One of those round to it things. Ah, yes I started an intro page and then forgot.

Anywho, need to check my wood supplies, I think I've calculated the right amount of MDF just hadn't planned this structure when stocking up on 2.4m pine lengths for another project I've been asked to consider by some rather stressed education staff.

The other three floors are most likely bedrooms as well.

The DIY dollhouse is still on my to do list I just needed something to do in a bigger scale for a bit. It looks like I'm almost out of pine anyway and won't be near a hardware store until the first week of November, so little house will get some work soon.

182. A Spot of Bother, I mean Rain, by Our Generation.

It was sort of a regift, last Thursday a short visit with Anne Shirley (she lives at mumsy's house) saw the return of some things for us to use here.

Well we didn't think it was going to be used for a while, whilst it was raining heaps on Thursday, it hadn't rained since until this morning.

Mariana was keen to try the little set by Our Generation. A Spot of Rain.

I don't have an OG doll (yet) but I find some of their accessories a little hit and miss for American Girl. The boots were the first thing, I like that they are a complete boot, no splits cut into the walls, means the puddles can be deeper.

Mariana is marked as a Pleasant Company doll. I had socks on her feet in hope of assisting with the slide on, and a little concerned about red transfer to her legs, but after much ado and a bit of a Chinese burn we only managed the left foot.

Sorry love.

So my next victim, um volunteer was Emily. Emily was a My American Girl (2014).

Left foot, right foots gonna take a bit longer.

A spotted cat.

A little plastic handbag, let's just hope it has drain holes as it doesnt have a cover.

The coats right sleeve took a little patience getting over Emily's fingers, but overall the coat fit really well. The hat fit well and had chin cord length adjuster to stop her pigtails popping the hat off.

And the highlight, a real working umbrella. It didn't have a loop to keep it from falling open in this shot so I tied a little piece of ribbon round it.

Wee Mary Poppins.

180. DIY dollhouse kit, teeny tiny little books

It would seem if I am sensible and follow the instruction book order of things, and not jump ahead and glue together house bits before their turn, that the house is constructed furniture and decorations and all bit at a time as it is going to be too difficult to add things if I do them hicklety picklety.

Anyway,

Teeny tiny books printed on glossy paper that you cutout, accordion fold and glue together then glue to the bookcase.
